Pretty Yende is a 25-year-old black soprano from South Africa, currently singing in La Scala, Italy. At the Belvedere International Competition in Vienna she won first prize for opera, first prize for operetta as well as the audience prize, the international media jury prize and various opera engagement prizes. Pretty Yende has attended master classes with Raina Kabaivanska, Montserrat Caballe
