This year's International Agricultural Exhibition AGRA, the most renowned agriforum in the Balkans and Southeastern Europe, will showcase the new stage in the development of the sector, marking the end of the crisis and the beginning of an upturn.
This fact is supported by the growing interest of companies to participate in AGRA 2014. An increase is registered both in terms of participants and in terms of exhibition area, which is an obvious indication for stabilization.
Figures show that the their performance and are ready to massively launch new products on the Bulgarian agricultural companies are improving market. This means agribusiness is recovering and time is ripe for development.
AGRA 2014 is held under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture and Food, Prof. Dimitar Grekov.
The participants in AGRA 2014 will exhibit:
equipment and technologies increasing production effectiveness, reducing costs and improving yields;
multifunctional machinery and equipment facilitating farmer's work;
land cultivation and livestock breeding techniques ensuring high quality products for food industry;
effective implementation of research findings;
new cultivars of vegetables, fruit and grain crops;
software solutions optimizing producers activities.
The exhibitors present a total of 69 innovative products, including 31 worldwide and 11 European innovations, as well as 27 novelties on the Bulgarian market.
Dedicated to the modern trend in the agricultural sector is the BioAgra Trade Exhibition of Organic Farming. Launched in 2012, the exhibition was instantly recognized as a trade forum bringing together experts and producers.
How to support Bulgarian farmers is a leading topic of the Business Events Programme comprising over 30 events.
All research institutes within the framework of the Agricultural Academy are again to participate in AGRA 2014.
AGRA 2014 is to provide a comprehensive presentation of one of the most important economic sectors that turned into a driving force in times of crisis.
Simultaneously with AGRA 2014, the first edition of the specialized exhibition API BULGARIA will be organized at the Fairground. The event will cover all aspects of apiculture.
AGRA was launched in 1992. As an acknowledgment of high quality and international repute, the event was approved by UFI – The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry in 1995. In 2008, AGRA was enlisted in the calendar of EURASCO – The European Federation of Agricultural Exhibition and Show Organizers.

The upward trend is the result of the flexible marketing policy of International Fair Plovdiv aiming to support businesses in the complicated economic environment.
The exhibitors are predominantly engaged in the plant-growing sector, followed by the exhibitors active in the sectors of livestock breeding, R&D activities, services and information.
Indoor and outdoor exhibition areas
The exhibition stands of the participants in AGRA are allocated in seven exhibition pavilions and the surrounding open spaces. The specialized exhibition API Bulgaria is accommodated in Pavilion 2.
Company proprietors, representatives of senior and middle management are expected to account for 50% of all visitors, experts and specialists - for 37%; trainees and students – for 7%.
BioAgra Trade Exhibition of Organic Farming
BioAgra is organized in partnership with the AVALON Foundation, the Netherlands. The aim of the exhibition is to present organic farming as environmentally friendly production practice and organic products as healthy quality food. The event brings together companies, research institutes and experts from all areas of organic crop and livestock production and distribution.
For the sixth year in succession, new products, services and improvements in the agricultural sector will compete at AGRA. The aim of the Innovations Competition is to promote to the trade visitors innovations and companies offering them. The competition is organized on the initiative of International Fair Plovdiv with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
