The 10th anniversary edition of the International Exhibition HEMUS is bringing together leading Bulgarian and foreign companies, representatives of research institutes and experts. The exhibition is held from 30 May – 02 June 2012 at International Fair Plovdiv with key aspects: defence, antiterrorism, security.
The exhibition promotes the development of the military-industrial complex and its faster adjustment to the new political and economic realities. The 10th edition of HEMUS focuses on advanced technologies as a means to increase the efficiency of defence costs and as a basis for long-term investment planning in the business sphere.
HEMUS 2012 opens up opportunities for manufacturers and traders to get acquainted with Bulgarian and worldwide novelties and research achievements, and for companies to enter new markets and find promising prospects for joint manufacture of products for military and civil use.
The exhibition is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism.

For the first time at HEMUS 2012

Expositions
The Bulgarian defence industry demonstrates highly demanded products in the international market. Renowned foreign companies exhibit their latest developments.
The exhibition areas are allocated in Pavilion 3 and outdoors. The occupied exhibition area is registering a rise of 12% in comparison with last edition.
Static display and dynamic demonstrations of armament, equipment and joint operations will be shown during the exhibition, aiming to present a comprehensive picture of the defence industry potential.
Visitors
The exhibition will be attended by official delegations from Azerbaijan, Iraq and Belgium, as well as by ambassadors, military attachés, representatives of ministries organizations and research institutes from the country and abroad, numerous defence industry experts.
Organizers
The International Exhibition HEMUS is being organized by the Hemus'95 Foundation. Main partners are International Fair Plovdiv and the Bulgarian Defence Industry Association.
HEMUS is a biennial event conducted under the supervision of the Organizing Committee, whose chairman is the Minister of Defence.

6th International Conference (31 May – 01 June)
Topic: Smart Defense Solutions and Technologies
Within the duration of the forum Bulgarian and foreign experts will discuss how new technologies, improved organization and training of the armed forces could reduce military expenditure. Over 90 papers are presented relating to NATO initiative for increase efficiency of the armed forces and less expenditure and to the EU policy for joint and shared capacities.
