Hungarian companies to seek Bulgarian partners at the International Technical Fair 2009
Hungarian companies will seek Bulgarian partners in the fields of investments, power engineering, SMEs, EU projects development during the International Technical Fair to be held from 28 September to 3 October 2009 in Plovdiv. Hungary is the Partner Country at this year's forum of the investment goods and technologies, which is a leading trade fair event in Southeast Europe.
Despite the crisis, the interest of the Hungarian companies in doing business abroad has not decreased, yet they target countries located within our region. In terms of investments in Bulgaria, Hungary takes the ninth place with EUR 900 – 950 million invested over the past two years. Hungarian companies are engaged in the sectors of finance, mobile technologies and packaging materials. Some of the major companies are MKB Bank, Videoton and GPV. The Hungarian Embassy in Sofia expects a growing presence in infrastructure projects, logistics, environment protection, trade in clothes, footwear, foods. The trade turnover between the two countries reached over EUR 900 million in 2008.
The common experience during the EU accession period, as well as the geographic proximity, are the prerequisites for the intensification of business relations. Bulgarian companies could benefit from the experience of their Hungarian partners in launching joint EU-funded projects, since Hungary ranked third among all EU member states in terms of effective absorption of EU funds in the period 2004 – 2006, succeeding to receive 87% of the financial framework. On account of this, an increased participation of Hungarian companies is expected at the upcoming International Technical Fair in Plovdiv.
For the exhibitors at Autumn Fair 2009, we offer price reductions and special advertising packages to facilitate their successful presentation in spite of the imposed restrictions on spending.
The discounts granted on the exhibition area rental range from 10% to 35%. Our aim is to support the companies active in the exhibition categories of the Autumn Fair. Some of these industrial sectors are among the worst affected by the current crisis.
