PrintCom 2011 showcased the implementation of green technologies in printing industry
Companies and exhibits from 23 countries participated in the International Exhibition of Printing Communications PrintCom 2011 from 13 to 16 April 2011 at Fairground of International Fair Plovdiv. On display were the latest technologies, equipment and materials in the field of printing and publishing industries. The scope of business activities of the participants in PrintCom 2011 comprised following categories: printing industry (48.72%); paper and cardboard (20.51%); advertising, publishing and printed editions (20.51%); peripheral devices (10.26%).
The exhibition highlighted the ever-growing application of digital and green technologies in the printing industry. The personalization of print and utilization of different materials, as well as the quick adjustment to meet customer-specific requirements, were among the new trends outlined by PrintCom 2011.
The International Exhibition of Printing Communications PrintCom was organized by International Fair Plovdiv in partnership with the Printing Industry Union of Bulgaria and the Polygrafia Magazine. The exhibition is recognized by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, as a UFI approved event.
Further events organized concurrently with PrintCom 2011 were Impressia Art Salon, TF Fest – International Exhibition of Training Firms and the International Fair Poster Competition. In that way, events relating to communications, culture and education were held simultaneously in compliance with the new concept of International Fair Plovdiv for grouping events with common orientation and similar marketing interests for exhibitors and trade visitors.
The International Fair Poster Competition took place for the fifteenth time in succession. Thas one-of-a-kind design competition, dedicated to the contemporary poster art supporting the international exhibition industry, was organized by International Fair Plovdiv and UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. The international jury of exhibition industry professionals and graphic designers assessed 101 posters promoting a specific exhibition event, which were presented by 25 trade fair organizations from 14 countries.
This year, the Grand Award winner is the poster DOMOTEX: The World of Flooring, submitted by Deutsche Messe Hannover. The Grand Award will be presented at the UFI Annual Congress to be held from 9 – 12 November in Valencia, Spain.
