The Republic of South Africa is participating for the first time as Partner Country in VINARIA 2010 to showcase South Africa’s excellent wines and South Africa’s Department of Trade and Industry is sponsoring six top wineries, which have never previously offered their wines in Eastern Europe to be on the show. A presentation of South African wines and wineries as well as wine tasting of South Africa’s special New World taste are organized within the Business Events Programme. A cultural highlight of South Africa's participation is the recital of Pretty Yende, a young promising black soprano, currently singing in La Scala, which will be performed on March 15, 2010 at the Congress Centre of International Fair Plovdiv.

The Sapori d'Italia event, organized by Euro Sviluppo Italia in cooperation with the University of Food Technologies, Plovdiv, will feature thirty-four companies, i.e. 30 Italian and 4 Bulgarian companies, which are on display in Pavilion 11. The vast assortment comprises Italian coffee and ice cream, citrus fruit, olive oil, olives, dried fruit, liqueurs from Sicily pastries, canned food and other food products. Six companies present fine wines from Sicily. The presentation of 19 wineries from the region of Sicily organized by Casa Sicilia Bulgaria will further contribute to turning Pavilion 11 into the presentation centre of Italian wines.

The Business Events programme comprises further interesting presentations, discussions and working meetings.
