Companies from 24 countries were attracted to participate in MEDICUS DENTO GALENIA 2009, which is held from 21 to 24 October in International Fair Plovdiv. This year the number of participating companies has increased by 5 compared with last year, with 185 exhibitors in total - 98 Bulgarian and 87 foreign. They will showcase the latest technologies, equipment and products in the fields of medicine, dentistry, pharmaceutics and balneology in Pavilion 11 of the Fairgrounds. The forum is organized by International Fair Plovdiv and the Association of Dental Dealers in Bulgaria.
“I am really flattered to be opening such a flourishing event as MEDICUS DENTO GALENIA”, said the Regional Governor of Plovdiv Region, Mr. Ivan Totev, before the cutting the ribbon. “This year’s event is not only larger, but also more attractive for its strong scientific part”, stated the Senior Director of International Fair Plovdiv, Mr. Ivan Sokolov. “It is complemented by the exhibition of SPA and Wellness Tourism, which offers different ideas for health and beauty”, he added.
“MEDICUS DENTO GALENIA is one of the major exhibition events attractive to exhibitors, experts and visitors and recognized as a business venue for contacts and experience exchange”, stated the Minister of Health, Mr. Bozhidar Nanev, in his welcoming message. “This exhibition will aid the provision of new equipment for the healthcare facilities in the country”, Dr. Nanev added.
Four scientific forums will be held within the frame of MEDICUS DENTO GALENIA 2009. Besides the regular Congress on Restorative Dentistry (23-24 October), the Business Events Programme includes: Dento Symposium (22-23 October), scientific conference on gastroenterology with a practical session – postgraduate study course (22-24 October), Symposium of the Bulgarian Dental Union (22 October), all events with the participation of specialists from Bulgaria and Europe.
Eighteen nominees will be competing for the Dental Practice Manager Award. “The competition is held for the first time”, announced Mrs. Margarita Toteva, chairperson of the Association of Dental Dealers in Bulgaria, which is the organizer. “It is intended for the patients, the very objective is to show we have clinics and offices of European standards”, Toteva explained.
Demonstrations of different methods for beatification and rejuvenation take place every day the within the exhibition of SPA and Wellness Tourism in Pavilion 10. The businessmen starting in the SPA sector may get useful tips at a specialized seminar.
Four worldwide novelties and one novelty on the European market are displayed among the innovative products at the stands of MEDICUS DENTO GALENIA 2009. One of these is an appliance that illuminates the treatment area much better, enabling the user to work much more precisely. Manufactured by W&H, Austria the handpiece has applications in dental prophylaxis, periodontology and implantology. The detachable surgical instruments manufactured by the same company roused great interest from the very first day of the exhibition. The novelty on the European market is an autoclave with 6 programs manufactured by an Italian company.
